Pros
- This is a very challenging platformer
- The hero is a zombie, making this a bit of a twist from regular zombie games
- Graphics are fine for a free game
Cons
- Could have used a bit more content
- The zombie theme is getting old by now, no matter how well done a company might do a zombie game
Ben and Ed is a horror platform modeled after old school gore and difficulty.
Prepare yourself for one challenge after another in this zombie-themed platformer. Unlike a lot of zombie games, this one is told from the perspective of the zombie himself. His name is Ed and he's in a race against time and challenges. During this game, the protagonist, a zombie, will face off against lunging hammers, blades, and plenty of platforms threatening to whirl him to his death.
Ed has a friend named Ben that will accompany him during points of the game. The platforms themselves are challenging enough although most players would agree that this game could have used a little more content and levels. That doesn't mean you won't have fun while you're playing it, though. Because the game is from the zombie's point of view, it's a neat little twist on a well worn genre that far too many people are already sick of by now.
The zombie craze is over a decade old now and it's becoming difficult to do anything zombie related without it seeming trite. This neat little game actually does a very good job giving the zombie theme a fresh new face. Ed is a lovable character and you're surely going to have to love him to stick with him during some of these very challenging levels.
